Tamarac Wildlife Refuge hosts a Wildlife Excursion at 10 a.m. Explore the refuge with a knowledgeable guide. Search for wildlife and learn about the cultural and natural history of the Tamarac. Meet at the visitor center located 9 miles north Hwy 34 at the junction of Cty Hwys 29 and 26. For more information, contact the refuge at 218-847-2641. All items in the Friends of Tamarac Gift Shop are 30 percent off.

Loretta Lynne tribute

Neighbor to Neighbor
The Frazee/Vergas Neighbor to Neighbor LAH/BNP hosts a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. in the Vergas Event Center. It is free will donation.
Saturday, June 23
Grove Lake Lutheran WELCA, rural Pelican Rapids, hosts a salad luncheon and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more info, visit grovelakechurch.org. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under.

A Zinger steak fry begins at 5 p.m. until gone in the DL American Legion.
EEA Chapter 1498 coffee
Local EAA Chapter 1498 pilots and aviation enthusiasts get together each Saturday morning for coffee and rolls at the Detroit Lakes Wething Field terminal. Come for good conversation and plenty of flying stories. If you have an interest in learning how to fly or an aviation career, come visit the group.
Hughes book signing
Amanda Hughes, author of two historical adventures with romance, is at a Meet and Greet at Sister Wolf books in Dorset from 6 to 9 p.m. She is the author of Beyond the Cliffs of Kerry and The Pride of the King.
Join Laurentian Lakes Chapter members and friends at 9 a.m. for a guided wildflower hike on the North Country Trail. This will be a moderate hike for 4 miles from the Clearwater Co. 39 trailhead to State Hwy 113 trailhead through a mixed forest. Bring water, insect repellant and wear sturdy shoes. Bikers Against Batterers
A Bikers Against Batterers 140-mile ride to benefit the White Earth Dove Shelter begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. at Callaway Liquor Store. Cost is $25 per rider and $5 for a passenger.
Sunday, June 24
The Upsala Midsummer Celebration is at 1:30 p.m., with Vicki Marthaler giving the service, followed by refreshments. Upsala is located eight miles north on Highway 59.
The Eksjo Lutheran Church Midsummer Celebration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Worship service is at 9:45 a.m. There will be a freewill offering for a Swedish meatball dinner.
Shoreham Chapel event
Country gospel singers Ron and Opal Erickson of Branson, Mo., perform at the 10:45 a.m. service at Shoreham Chapel.
Brekke to perform
Singer Kathie Brekke leads worship at the 9:45 a.m. service for Lund Lutheran Church's, Richwood Road, monthly "Fresh Air" outdoor service, with a church potluck dinner to follow. Bring your lawn chair and sunscreen. The service will move indoors if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.
Trio con Brio concert
Sons of Norway sponsors a concert with Trio con Brio, musicians from Sweden, at 7 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. The concert is free will donation and refreshments after the concert. Habitat for Humanity is serving their usual Tuesday evening meal in the parking lot at Trinity at approx 5:30 p.m. (instead of the park) This is also free will.

First Lutheran Church of Audubon celebrates their 140th anniversary on June 23 with an open house at the church from 1 to 4 p.m. Historical photos, directory display, coffee and cookies. The celebration continues on June 24 with a 9 a.m. worship service with former pastors participating, followed by an 11 a.m. lunch. It is free will offering.
Wednesday story time
Family fun story time is every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the VFW in Pelican Rapids. Everyone is welcome. Listen to, or tell, your favorite story.
