Prom Expo, Campus Visit

Minnesota State Community & Technical College and Elegance invite area high school students to attend the Prom Expo and Campus Visit from 4-8 p.m. on the Detroit Lakes campus of MSCTC. There will be vendor booths with reservation details, product samples/demos and exciting offers and a prom fashion show hosted by Elegance Formal Wear of Perham. Your $2 admission will make you eligible for great door prizes, including a prize package worth over $200. LP Garden Club

The Lake Park Garden Club meets at 1:30 p.m. in Park Manor. Please enter by the south door. Garden talk by Arlene Ballard. Program is proper care of garden tools. Lunch by Arlene Ballard.

An open house is planned for University of MN Extension Ag Educator Will Yliniemi from 2-4 p.m. in the Becker County Extension Office, located in the Human Services Building, DL.

Genealogy class

Want to research your family history? Aren't sure where to start? Come to Beginning Genealogy from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Detroit Lakes Library. Explore ways to find information beyond births, deaths and marriages. Discover genealogical databases found on the Library's web site as well as other online sources of information using a laptop computer. The class is free, but space is limited. Please call the Library at 847-2168 to pre-register.

Relay for Life meeting

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life kick-off meeting is at 6 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, DL. Relay for Life is June 19-20 at the DLHS Mollberg Field. Be the first teams to sign up and win prizes.

Friday, Jan. 30

French Frolic

Emmanuel Community hosts French Frolic, a charity benefit, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Speak Easy. There will be a silent auction, music by the Front Fenders and lots of food and fun. Tickets are $35 or $300 for a table of 8.
