Harold Greer, 80, of Mission, Texas and Montpelier, N.D., passed away peacefully to be with Jesus on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mission, where he had been a resident since suffering a stroke on August 3, 2013.

Harold DuWayne was born on October 14, 1933 on the family farm in Dickey, N.D. He was the oldest of seven children born to Alton and Lenora (Bender) Greer. Harold attended school in Dickey, N.D. On May 16, 1953 he was united in marriage to DeLoras Dally, and together they raised five children.

Harold worked on a farm for two years before starting a career at Spiritwood, Prosper and Harwood, N.D., elevators. In June of 1976 Harold and DeLoras purchased Pink Cabins on Cotton Lake, near Rochert, and ran the resort until May of 1989. They later moved to Lake Park, MN, where Harold trucked for several Companies.

Once retired, Harold and DeLoras moved to various spots in Texas before settling in Mission.

Surviving Harold are his wife of 60 years, DeLoras; sons, DuWayne (Hye Boon) Greer of Woodbridge, Va., Aaron (Judy) Greer of West Fargo and Bryce (Cyndi) Greer of Verndale; and daughter, Becky (Dale) Renner of Detroit Lakes.

He is also survived by brothers, Howard (Jane) Greer of North Dartmouth, Mass., and Ralph (Rita) Greer of Marion, N.D.; sisters, Marge Dailey-Salberg of West Bend, Wis., Delores (Larry) Schiebe of Fayetteville, N.C., and Rachel (Bill) Schultz of Moorhead; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Harold in death were his parents; a sister, Caroline; and son, Tracy Joel (1978).

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, in the United Methodist Church, Dickey, N.D., with lunch following at the town hall in Dickey.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. An online guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com.
