Harold Fay Ward, 70, of Audubon, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Harold was born to McOldham and Leora Bell (Watson) Ward on February 28, 1943 in Indianapolis, Ind. He attended high school in Orland Park, Ill. His father was a pastor and they moved frequently in Indiana and Illinois. They lived in Hickory Hills, Ill., for nine years.
Harold married Shirley Fletcher in September of 1963. Following their marriage they moved to Mokena, Ill., in 1965. Harold was employed at Andrew Corporation as a machinist in Orland Park, Ill., for 14 years. He was then employed for 23 years in Mokena, Ill., as a cabinet maker. He met Judy Nelson in 1984 in Illinois.
In 1993, Harold and Judy moved to Audubon, where they have since resided. He enjoyed fishing, loved trains, spending time at the lake and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Audubon Chapel.
Surviving Harold are his significant other, Judy Nelson of Audubon; mother, Leora Ward of Illinois; children, David (Natalie) Ward of Mokena, Ill., and Dena (Dan) Tijan of Detroit Lakes; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother, Robert (LaVern) Ward of Caruthersville, Mo.
Preceding him in death were his father and brother, Dennis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at First Lutheran Church in Audubon.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 in Wright Funeral Home, Lake Park, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
