Hawley man gets jail
A Hawley man was sentenced recently in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of selling drugs.
Keith Allen Haats, 51, of 111 3rd St. No. 10, Hawley, was ordered to serve 15 months in prison, stayed on conditions including completion of a one-year jail sentence and up to 30 years of probation. He must also perform community service work in lieu of $1,160 in court fines and fees.
Haats was accused of selling six hydrocodone pills to a confidential informant of the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force on March 22. The alleged sale took place in Haats' vehicle while parked outside a Detroit Lakes business.
He was charged with, and subsequently convicted of, one felony count of third degree sale of a controlled substance.
