Hawley man sentenced for stealing motorbike in Lake Park
Alexander John Cookson, 18, of 4573 250th St., Hawley has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for stealing a motorbike.
He had been charged with second-degree burglary of a dwelling and two counts of third-degree burglary. One of those counts was dropped in a plea agreement.
On July 29 he and two others stole a total of three motorbikes from two residences in Lake Park, according to court records.
He appeared March 7 before District Judge Mark Hansen. On the first count, the judge stayed imposition of sentence for 10 years and placed Cookson on supervised probation. He must serve 60 days in jail and pay a $1,000 fine plus court fees.
On the third count, imposition of sentence was stayed five years. He must serve 60 days in jail, concurrent to count 1, and pay a $1,000 fine plus $2,408 in restitution.
