Head-on crash kills two in northwest Minnesota

GARY, Minn. -- A head-on collision north of Gary on state Highway 32 killed both drivers Thursday afternoon.

At about 2:10 p.m., the driver of a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling south and swerved into the lane of opposite traffic, colliding with a 2007 Chevy Impala, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Both drivers were killed and both vehicles were totaled, the patrol said.

No other details were immediately released. The patrol plans to release the names of the drivers this morning.

Gary is in Norman County, about 35 miles southeast of Crookston.

Road conditions were dry at the time, according to the patrol report.
