Health care prep class available at M State
Interested in a health care career? Explore the options during the upcoming Health Care Prep Course offered on both the Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls campuses of Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
Course participants can learn more about health care careers, prepare for college-level health care courses, improve their work, technical and academic skills, and complete an online college orientation.
There is no charge for the course, which will be offered from 5-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Oct. 2 to Dec. 13 on both M State campuses. Individuals who complete the course will be eligible to enroll in M State's Integrated Anatomy and Physiology course, beginning in January 2013.
Pre-registration, with a Sept. 20 deadline, is required for the Health Care Prep Course. College academic expectations and ethics
Time management and study skills
Math for health care organizations
College reading and writing
Job shadowing and career options
Health care careers
Accuplacer assessment testing preparation
Individuals interested in enrolling should have completed their GED or high school diploma.
The training opportunity is funded by a FastTRAC grant with collaboration from M State, ABE in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls, Rural Minnesota CEP, Fergus Falls Community Education and the Central Minnesota Area Health Education Center.
