Heart O’Lakes Harmony, Benson Family to perform April 12

The Benson Family will perform as a part of the Heart O’Lakes Harmony show.

The Heart O’Lakes Harmony a cappella chorus presents Halo & Good Buy Tent Revival, a parody, with special guests The Benson Family Singers.

They will have two performances: Friday, April 11, at 7:30 pm. in the Kennedy School Auditorium in Fergus Falls, and Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 pm. in the Historic Holmes Theatre, Detroit Lakes.

The Benson Singers are a family from southern Minnesota, who perform barbershop, bluegrass and gospel music.

Pete Benson has been a barbershopper since 1984, has sung in two District Champion quartets and is the director of the Great Northern Union Chorus in Minneapolis. He is also a music professor at University of Wisconsin, River Falls. 

Rachelle Benson is an accomplished singer and violinist and is a former Sweet Adeline.

Their four sons are also a part of the gig. David sings baritone and plays the banjo and mandolin. Aaron is the lead singer and guitar player. Luke is the manager/joke teller and mandolin player. And the youngest, Paul, plays the Dobro.

Tickets for the show are $12, with children under 12 free.
