GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The National Weather Service says a system with the potential for significant rainfall is tracking a bit farther south than originally forecast, which will mean slightly lighter totals over eastern North Dakota and northwestern and west-central Minnesota.

Rainfall is now expected to total 1.5 to 2 inches south of a line from Lisbon to Fargo to Bemidji, Minn., and 0.5 to 1 inch from Devils Lake to Grand Forks to Baudette, Minn.

The weather service says ground over most of the forecast area can handle most of the rain, but there's still some concern about localized flooding in southeastern North Dakota and parts of west-central Minnesota, where a flood watch remains in effect through Wednesday.
