High-end Britney Spears tickets sell out fast
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Three days after tickets went on sale, all the premium seats at Britney Spears' Sept. 12 concert at Grand Forks' Alerus Center were spoken for, according to the Ticketmaster Web site.
Steve Hyman, executive director of the city-owned events center, said a handful may have been set aside by promoters - it's hard to tell from his data - but the rest were purchased.
These are the 600 or so tickets close to the stage that sell from $125 for standing room and $495 for a loveseat.
The VIP packages, which add backstage tours and pre-show entertainment, have also done well, he said, with 250 sold. "It's one of those situations where people want to say they were there."
It's not clear how well the remaining 18,000 or so seats sold because the concert promoter has not allowed the Alerus Center to divulge precise data, Hyman said.
"It's doing very, very well," he said.
