Family: Prank 'gone wrong' causes shooting death in small western Minnesota town

Highway 10 accident leaves several injured

A broadside accident injured several people, one critically, on Highway 10 near Wadena late Saturday afternoon.

The collision between a 2000 Toyota Echo and 1997 Dodge Caravan occurred at the intersection of Highway 10 and Otter tail County Road 75 about two miles west of Wadena.

Marrissa L. Bergmann, 23, no address listed, is in critical condition, according to the State Patrol.

She was transported to Tri County Hospital in Wadena, then airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

She was on the passenger side of the Toyota Echo, which was hit on the passenger side as it attempted to cross Highway 10.

Also injured was the driver of the Echo, Elizabeth A. Flanagan-Montie, 23, of Verndale. She suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Another passenger in the Echo also suffered non life-threatening injuries -- Jeremy M. Stacey, 22, of St. Paul. A 3-year-old passenger, Jeremy L. Stacey of St. Paul, was not injured, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the Dodge -- Jacklyn J. Irwin, 22, of Wadena -- also suffered non life-threatening injuries Everybody involved was taken to Tri County Hospital in Wadena.

The crash was reported about 5:30 p.m. on dry pavement. The Echo was southbound on Otter Tail County Road 75. After stopping at a stop sign, it continued on to Highway 10. The Dodge was eastbound on Highway 10 and hit the Toyota broadside.

Wadena city police, county deputies and firefighters assisted at the scene.
