Highway 10 lane closes this week for concrete work
Concrete work will continue the week of May 18, requiring a westbound right lane closure on Highway 10 between Kris Street and Highway 59. The lane closure will be in place daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of the week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.
Bridgework will begin Tuesday, starting at the Highway 59 bridge. When the Highway 59 bridgework is complete, the contractor will work on the Highway 10 bridge over Roosevelt Avenue. Motorists should watch for lane closures on the Highway 59 bridge and Highway 10 when crews are working.
Some painting will also take place on the Roosevelt Avenue underpass below Highway 10. This work will have minimal traffic impacts, but motorists should be aware of crews and equipment in the area.
There will be no traffic impacts on Highway 10 or Highway 59 during Memorial Day weekend -- Friday, May 22, through Monday, May 25. There still may be crews working around the area, but to accommodate holiday traffic there will be no lane closures.
As overlook work continues, boat landing/overlook visitors are reminded to use caution in and around the overlook area, and avoid fenced areas and areas in which construction work is in progress and equipment is located.
