Highway 10 project: Frontage road will be prepped, paved this week
This week, crews will finish turf establishment in various places along the Highway 10 corridor.
Construction of the new frontage road (Frazee Street) continues between Frazee Street and East Shore Drive. Access to frontage road businesses will be maintained at all times.
Crews began prepping and paving the frontage road on Saturday. They will prep and pave various sections of the frontage road this week, including business accesses/driveways. Two lane two-way traffic is being maintained through this area.
The city of Detroit Lakes continues electrical work along the frontage road.
The Corbett Avenue access to Highway 10 is open.
The frontage road between North Shore Drive and East Shore Drive is closed to motorists, bicycles and pedestrians. During this time crews are reconstructing the boat landing and overlook area, building two retaining walls between the frontage road and Big Detroit Lake, working on the new bike trail and constructing the East Shore Drive/frontage road intersection. Motorists should use Highway 10 to get around this area of the lake.
The intersection of Frazee Street the Frontage Road and McKinley Avenue remains closed. Paving and turf establishment continues this week. The intersection is scheduled to open by the end of the week, weather permitting.
The Depot Park 'n Ride parking lot is now open. Crews will begin grading, pouring concrete and placing brick around the outside of the building.
This intersection remains a four-way stop. Traffic signal system and some sidewalk work continues this week. Crews will finish paving the intersection this week.

Crews are finishing up turf establishment this week.
The next Highway 10 project update/public meeting for this construction season will be held Monday, Oct. 13, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
