Students wrote a 300-400 word essay on the topic “What Patriotism Means to Me.” After writing their essays, they read them to a panel of judges, who then chose the first, second and third place winners in 6th and 7th grade.

Winners will be honored at a special banquet later this year.

Winners include seventh graders Wade Singer (son of Chris and Vicki Singer) in first place, second place went to Matthew Nelmark (son of Tad and Julia Nelmark) and third place went to Hunter Hagen (son of Mark and Tanya Hagen).

Sixth grade winners include first place winner Isabella Steffl (daughter of David and Gina Steffl, second place went to Greta Nelson (daughter of Jim and Heather Ware Nelson), and third place went Maci Bellefeuille (daughter of Tricia and Alan Bellefeuille).
