Hornet football team rushes past Fertile-Beltrami
The Frazee football team entered with a ton of experience on the offensive line and so far, it's producing prime results.
The Hornets rolled over visiting Fertile-Beltrami Friday 29-14 in the season opener, as Frazee compiled a total 372 yards on the ground.
"The players demonstrated great mental focus and teamwork," said Frazee head coach Jim Rader. "This is a great group of hardworking young men, that understand the meaning of 'team'".
Mike Moltzan pounded in three rushing touchdowns and 118 yards on 12 carries, while Kody Sorenson led the way with 147 yards on 25 carries.
But it was the senior offensive line of Nate Sandberg, Kyle Quittschreiber, Matt Brower, Andrew Kunz and Devon Drewes -- along with sophomore Brett Gildersleeve -- who made the crucial push in the trenches against the Falcons.
Defensively, the Hornets limited Fertile-Beltrami to 95 yards of rushing and 85 passing.
The Hornets will play two of the traditionally top teams in the conference at Barnesville (1-0) Friday and Hawley (0-1) Sept. 17.
