The latest came Thursday, as a well-traveled group of athletes stepped off the bus and onto Breckenridge soil.

With this being the second long road trip of the week, the young team would already be facing adversity in the night's doubleheader.

The Hornets were equal to the task scoring an 11-4 win in the first game.

Frazee's defense also showed up and held Breckenridge down to its four runs.

Brandon Vanwatermulen went seven innings and allowed only four hits.

Sophomore Jake Galbrecht and freshman Jordan Ketter led the way at the plate by earning three hits apiece.

In the second game of the evening, Frazee seemed to be feeling the effects of fatigue, said head coach Bryan Gillespie.

"Lack of focus caused easy runs to be scored," he said.

The Hornets bounced back and combined for an astonishing 19 base hits.

Hayden Hoskins was awarded the win going five innings in the 18-11 victory.

Vanwatermulen found his groove and was 4-4 and only a homerun away from hitting for the cycle.

But he still settled for two triples, a double, and a single.
