Hospice to celebrate 25 years of care
Hospice of the Red River Valley will celebrate 25 years of hospice care in the Detroit Lakes area with an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 12 at the 1102 West River Road office location.
There will be a short program at 12:15 p.m. and refreshments will be served. The community is invited to the event.
Hospice care in the Detroit Lakes area started in 1984 as a part of Multi-County Nursing, due to a community task force vision.
In 1989, Lakes Area Hospice became self-sustaining and merged with Hospice of the Red River Valley in 1993. The continual support of the Detroit Lakes area communities has truly been the key to the longevity of the program.
