Howard W. Blanchard, 80, of Frazee, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at his home in Frazee.
Howard William Blanchard was born to William and Pearl (Allen) Blanchard on May 30, 1928 in Fosston, Minn. He grew up in the Fosston area until he married Judy Zacher on April 22, 1955 in Sisseton, S.D. They moved to Moorhead, where Howard worked as a home builder. They then moved to Eugene, Ore., continuing to build homes and do concrete work. They moved back to Frazee, where they settled on their farm, and continuing his work, he eventually developed the farm into Eagle Lake Acres, where he lived until his death. Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Surviving Howard are his wife, Judith; daughter, Susan Bachleitner; sons, David Blanchard, Richard (Dawn) Blanchard and Bill (Joanne) Blanchard; eight grandchildren and one great grandson; sisters Joyce, Violet and Darlene Blanchard; and one brother, Don (Nancy) Blanchard.
Preceding Howard in death were his parents, William and Pearl; grandson, Joshua Bachleitner; and sisters, Ruth and Delores.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, continuing for one hour prior to services on Friday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, with the Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Vergas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.
