Hugo Carl Heinle was born the son of Charles and Lydia Heinle on March 27, 1933 in Hebron, N.D. He was raised on the family farm and schooled in Hebron. Hugo had to leave school and tend to the farm due to his father's illness.
On April 12, 1953, Hugo was united in marriage to Violet Miller and they continued to farm for awhile, until selling and pursuing other opportunities, including a service station. In 1962, they moved to Minnesota to farm, but driving truck would be Hugo's main occupation, which he did for 40 years with several companies. In 1977 he sold the farm and they moved to Detroit Lakes, where he continued to drive truck until he retired to Perham.
He was known as "Happy Hugo" and loved singing, playing the accordion, horses and playing with his great grandchildren. He was very active in quartets and church singing. He enjoyed leading family and church activities.
Hugo is survived by his wife, Violet Heinle of Perham; three sons, Randy (Sheryl) Heinle of Ft. Mill, S.C., Rick (Laura) Heinle of Perham and Brent (Carrie) Heinle of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Tony, Rodrigo, Maria, Marisol, Austin and Alyssa; and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Hugo in death were his parents, Charles and Lydia; a brother, Irwin; and an infant brother, Don.
