Hulda A. Enget, 94, of Audubon, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at St. Mary's Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
Hulda Augustson was born to Magnus and Ida (Erickson) Augustson on July 29, 1916 in rural Detroit Lakes. She attended District 29 country school in Atlanta Township and also District 98 school in Detroit Township. She worked for several years on the Sewall Froysland farm, doing both fieldwork and caring for their children. She also cleaned cabins at Fairhaven Resort in Shoreham.
On March 6, 1949 Hulda was united in marriage to Maurice Enget. They made their home near Rochert. In 1959 they moved to a farm near Audubon, where she worked alongside her husband for many years. She liked embroidery, quilting and flower gardening. She especially liked red roses. She will be remembered as a very kind, loving person.
Surviving Hulda are her daughter, Marie (Julian) Qualley of Audubon; son, Larry (Farey) Enget of Audubon; eight grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Maurice (1999); one son, Jerome Enget; one grandson, Paul Enget; four sisters, Eldora Enget, Lily Gustafson, Edith Augustson and Annie Augustson; and one brother, Art Augustson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30, in West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, Audubon, with burial in the church cemetery.
