This donation is the cat’s meow.

The Humane Society of the Lakes received a 9 Lives Morris Rescue Foundation Grant of three pallets of food.

The donation will help feed the shelter’s cats for up to one year.

“We were honored to work with 9 Lives to help provide this valuable resource to help support the work of shelters across the country, including the Humane Society of the Lakes,” said Elysia Howard, vice president of marketing and licensing for the ASPCA.

The shelter thanked Lakeshirts, John Oren and Dan Hagen for assisting with transportation and storage of the cat food, Vicky Williams and Oren for helping fund the transport, and Cyndi Anderson for writing the grant request.

Though this will help the adult cats at the shelter, the humane society continues to need kitten food donations for young felines.
