Former Bejou and Ogema resident Ida Paulson Nefzger, 82, of Fosston, Minn., died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Midway Care Center in Fosston.
Ida, the only daughter of Henry and Susie (Fletcher) Andresen, was born June 12, 1926 near Ogema. She was raised on a farm west of Ogema, and attended school in Ogema. As a young woman, Ida worked as a waitress in area cafés. In 1946, she married Clarence Paulson, and they made their home in Ogema until Clarence's death in 1976.
Ida married Norbert Nefzger in 1977, and the couple made their home in Bejou for nearly 20 years. Due to Ida's declining health, she moved into the Midway Care Center in Fosston in 1996. Later that year, Norbert died, and Ida has made her home at Midway for the past 12 years.
Surviving Ida are her two children, daughter Henrietta "Hank" (Mitch) Thompson of Mahnomen, and son Curtis Paulson; as well as six grandchildren.
A graveside committal service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Ogema City Cemetery in Ogema. Viewing and visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the cemetery. A time of gathering and refreshments will follow the service at the Hank Thompson Residence.
