Interstate 94, Highway 10, Highway 210 close in west central Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed three highways at 11 p.m. Sunday due to heavy snow, high winds and low visibility. As of 10:30 a.m. Monday the highways remained closed, according to the MnDOT website.
Highways closed include:
  • Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Alexandria
  • Highway 10 from Moorhead to Audubon
  • Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls

All three highways will remain closed until further notice. In addition, no travel is advised on all highways in west central Minnesota.

Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or sentenced to 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
