Former Babbitt resident Ivadelle D. Schmoll. 87, of Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 24 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, with Reverend Wade Dutton officiating.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Argo Cemetery in Babbitt.
Ivadelle Dora Schmoll was born to Alfred and Emma (Germaine) Santwire on May 10, 1925 in Waubun. She was raised and educated in Waubun, moving to Minneapolis as a young woman.
Ivadelle was united in marriage to Don Schmoll September 28, 1951 in Waubun. They lived in Waubun and Keewatin, Minn., prior to moving to Babbitt. Don died in 1980 and Ivadelle continued to live in Babbitt until moving to Detroit Lakes in 1994.
Ivadelle enjoyed cook-ing, reading, the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Cindy Meardon) Santwire of Maple Grove and Doug (Lynne) Schmoll of Pelican Rapids; four grandchildren, Janet Santwire, Bryan Santwire, Karissa (Dusty) Swanson and Ryan (Maya) Schmoll; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Cora (Edwin) Neisen of Cold Spring; two brothers, Bob (Marlys) Santwire of Detroit Lakes and Al (Connie) Santwire of Fargo; and longtime friend, Dubbie Santwire.
In addition to her parents and husband, Don, Iva was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard.
The family would be honored to have memorials given to the First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes in Iva's name.
