James L. "Jim" Johnson, 66, of Hawley, died Sunday, November 23, 2008, in Hawley.
James was born to Kenneth and Shirley (Hanks) Johnson on Oct. 24, 1942 in Detroit Lakes, where he grew up and attended school. He was employed as a well driller for LTP Enterprises until 1985. He then worked for Lesmeister Flying Service, retiring in 2006. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and was looking forward to the ice fishing season.
Surviving Jim are his son, James Johnson, Jr., of Hawley; daughter, Angela (Richard) Burnside, also of Hawley; one brother, Bill Johnson of Detroit Lakes; eight grandchildren; and special friend, Tina Hearn of Hawley.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents and one brother, Joe Johnson.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
