Jane P. Arneson, 58, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.

The mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, with Father Todd Arends officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, with a 7 p.m. prayer service to follow, at David-Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to Wednesday's mass at the church.

Jane P. Arneson was born to Lloyd and Anna (Lesselyoung) Arneson on September 12, 1955 in Detroit Lakes. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and is a 1974 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School. She attended Bemidji State College and briefly lived in Akron, Colo., briefly prior to returning to Detroit Lakes.

Jane began her banking career as a teller with First National Bank in Detroit Lakes in 1977. She retired as a personal banker from Wells Fargo Bank in 2012 due to ill health.

Jane enjoyed time with her nieces and nephews and her great niece and nephews. She was known in the family as the "fun aunt." She also enjoyed golf, collecting giraffes and playing softball for the Sky Lark Chicks.

Janie had many friends and loved spending time with them.

Survivors include her mother, Anna Arneson of Detroit Lakes; brothers and sisters, Phil (Donna) Arneson of Detroit Lakes, Didget Tabbut of Pelican Rapids, Don Arneson of Plymouth, Jo (Les) Hovland of Minnetonka, Dave (Deb Nelson) Arneson of Detroit Lakes, Lu (Kip) McIlwain of St. Joseph and Judy (Kurt) Hegna of Hawley; 10 nieces and nephews; and three great nieces and great nephews.

Her dad, Lloyd and brother-in-law, John Tabbut, preceded her in death.
