Janice M. Graphenteen, 67, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at her home.
Janice was born the daughter of Albin and Martha (Lanoye) Remerowski on May 31, 1943 in Marshall, Minn. She was raised and educated in Marshall. She graduated from Marshall High School.
Janice married Verlon Graphenteen on June 22, 1963 in Marshall. They resided in Eagan, Minn., until moving to Detroit Lakes. Janice worked as a noon duty supervisor at Lincoln Elementary and at Conagra Foods.
Janice enjoyed crocheting and crafts. The most important part of her life was her family, and especially her grandchildren. Janice loved to attend her grandchildren's school activities, and just being able to spend time with them was always the highlight of her day.
Surviving Janice are her husband, Verlon Graphenteen, daughter, Jill (Jeff) Rusness and son, Jeff (Jennifer) Graphenteen, all of Detroit Lakes; five grandchildren, Meghan and Austin Rusness, Gunner, Chase and Olivia Graphenteen; two brothers, Howard (Cora) Remerowski of Grant, Minn., and Richard (Susan) Graphenteen of Maple Grove, Minn.; and her nieces and nephews.
Preceding Janice in death were her parents; daughter, Christine Graphenteen; and brother, Ronald Remerowski.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral Services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, May 20 at Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
