Janna M. Olson, 54, of Osage, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Merit Care Hospital in Fargo.
Janna M. Olson was born to Earl and Gladys (Doyle) Kirkevold on Nov. 28, 1951, in Fargo, where she grew up and attended school. She later moved to Osage, and graduated from Frazee High School in 1970. On Aug. 5, 1972 she married Donald E. Olson in Detroit Lakes. They lived for a short time in Detroit Lakes and in Osage, before moving to their home in rural Osage in 1974.
Janna loved music, flowers, wildlife and ice fishing. Her greatest joy was dedicating her life to her husband and their two boys.
Surviving Janna are her husband, Donald; two sons, Steve Olson of Fargo and Brian Olson of Osage; one brother, Rick (Mary) Kirkevold of Peoria, Ariz.; three sisters, Karen (Paul) Tucker of Duluth, Minn., Shelley Kohler of Detroit Lakes and Lori (Bob) Arnson of Williston, N.D.; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Her parents and two brothers-in-law, Steven Kohler and Dennis Disserud, preceded Janna in death.
Visitation was scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, and one hour prior to Thursday's services at the church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, at Shell Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osage, with the Rev. Stuart Fankhanel officiating.
Active casket bearers will be Sam Arnson, Matt Olson, Andy Kohler, Lisa Olson, David Disserud and Bob Kohler; honorary bearers will be Corey Kohler, Tim Kirkevold, Krist Disserud, Tyler Arnson, Elizabeth Kirkevold and Tommy Arnson.
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Osage. Arrangements have been entrusted to West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
