Create a kite
"Create a Kite" at the Detroit Lakes Library at 4 p.m. Create a kite, eat snacks and win prizes. Materials and instructions will be provided. This event is geared toward children in kindergarten through grade five.
Sit back, relax and enjoy great music by some of the area's up-and-coming musicians, as the Historic Holmes Theatre hosts a "Next Generation" Cabaret Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the ballroom. The Big Bash
The Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes will host its 10th annual Big Bash fund-raiser at the Historic Holmes Theatre Ballroom, starting with a 6 p.m. social hour featuring catering by Convent on Reeves. The program begins at 7 p.m., with a live auction to follow at 8:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Showtyme DJ. Live at the Lodge
The latest installment in the Lodge on Lake Detroit's "Live at the Lodge" series will feature Minneapolis-based jazz duo Gary Gratz and Jason Weismann. Pianist Gratz and sax player Weismann will perform in the Lodge's Fireside Lobby from 7-10 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge, waived for hotel guests and those attending the Lodge's Scotch Tasting Event, which precedes the concert starting at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are required for the scotch tasting, at $25 per person (a meal may be included for an additional $12). International touring artist Robby Vee comes to the Top Hat Theatre in Ulen for a 7:30 p.m. show. A second generation rocker and Canadian Rockabilly Hall of Famer, Robby is named after his father, Bobby Vee. The Top Hat Theatre is located inside the Ulen-Hitterdal School in Ulen. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and may be purchased at the school or by calling 218-596-8853. The Ulen Chamber of Commerce will host a special 1950s-themed supper prior to the concert, with grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, chips and root beer floats served from 5-7 p.m. at the school. Cost is $7 per plate, though preschoolers can eat for free. Proceeds from the supper will benefit area community projects.
Family Fun Carnival
The sixth annual Family Fun Carnival is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. Come and enjoy 25 games for children of all ages including Wacky Hair, Minnow Races, Fish Pond, Cake Walk, Bingo, Dinosaur Dig and more. Lunch will be available. Tickets are four for $1.

An Old Time Dance is from 7 to 10 p.m. in the White Pine Room, Frazee.
'The Eagle Has Landed'
Janice Bengtson, Tamarac NWR ranger, speaks about eagles at 2 p.m. in the DL Pub-lic Library. It's spring and eagles have returned to Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge. Learn about the bald eagle's natural history and unique characteristics. Find out how the Endangered Spe-cies Act made its remarkable journey of recovery possible.
Twisted Stitchers meets from 9 to 11 a.m. in Monika's (210 So Main St, Park Rapids). Kathy Belt will present Sprang demos. All are wel-come to the fiber guild meet-ing.
Amateur Radio Club
The Detroit Lakes Ama-teur Radio Club breakfast meeting is at 9 a.m. in the ClubHouse Hotel. Anyone interested in Ham Radio is welcome.
