Jiffy Lube in DL helps raise funds for MDA
The Muscular Dystrophy Association and Jiffy Lube service centers in Fargo, Detroit Lakes and Bismarck teamed up for the second annual “Muscle Up” campaign and raised over $8,000 to help support programs, families and individuals served by MDA.
From August 1 through September 15, drivers were able to make a $3 donation to MDA at their local Jiffy Lube service center and receive a savings book with more than $100 in Jiffy Lube savings in return.
“Jiffy Lube franchisees, employees and customers throughout our area made a big difference for children and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases this summer,” said Sue Wiger, executive director for MDA. “Because of their generosity and enthusiasm to ‘Muscle Up’ for MDA, our families will receive vital funds that will help them fight back against muscle disease.”
The Detroit Lakes Jiffy Lube was No. 3 in their region for sales of coupon books.
Funds raised through 2013 coupon book sales will help send area children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to MDA summer camp at Camp Courage, south of Clearwater.
The “Muscle Up” campaign emphasizes the parallels between the body’s muscles and a vehicle’s engine — both require care and maintenance to perform to their highest potential.
The coupon book fundraiser is driven by the passionate support of Jiffy Lube franchisees that are deeply committed to giving back to their communities, as well as the drivers who look to Jiffy Lube for their vehicle’s preventive maintenance needs.
