'Jim & Jane' to perform in Ulen

JIM OUSKA & JANE ALECKSON will perform this Saturday, April 3, as part of the Top Hat Theatre performing arts series at Ulen-Hitterdal School in Ulen. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.; tickets are available at the school office or at the door on the night of the concert.

On Saturday, April 3, Ulen's Top Hat Theatre will bring Jim Ouska and Jane Aleckson to the stage as part of its performing arts series. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the theater located at Ulen-Hitterdal School.

Jim and Jane delight their audiences with original songs, harmony vocals, thoughtful lyrics and strong instrumental playing on guitar, electric and upright bass. Their concerts are a tour de force through blues and swing, folk, funk and straight-ahead jazz.

Together the duo has played with Randy Sabien (former head of the Berklee School of Music jazz violin department), Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame drummer Clyde Stubblefield, and many of the finest jazz, blues and pop musicians in the area. In 2004 they recorded the soundtrack for "By Heart," an independent movie filmed in Wisconsin. Their music has been featured on MPR-The Current, WPR, WCCO, KBEM, KFAI, WPR and WOJB.

Tickets for Saturday's concert can be purchased at the Ulen-Hitterdal School office or at the door. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for students.
