Detroit Lakes native Joan S. Rollag, 40, of Tracy, Minn., died Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Hospice House of Marshall, Minn., surrounded by her loving family.

Joan Sandra Borah was born to Wesley and Alice (Pederson) Borah on Sept. 13, 1966 in De-troit Lakes. She was baptized on Oct. 16, 1966 and confirmed on May 2, 1982 in the Lutheran faith. Joan attended Detroit Lakes Public Schools and gradu-ated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1985. She then attended Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minn., for interior design. After college Joan returned to her hometown, and worked for the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, as a nursing assistant.

On Nov. 19, 1988 Joan mar-ried Wade Rollag at Zion Lu-theran Church in Detroit Lakes, where they made their home for several years. They then moved to Russell, Minn., and Walnut Grove, Minn., before moving to Tracy, Minn., in 1999. While living in Russell, Joan began working for Schwan Food Com-pany in Marshall, Minn. She then worked for the Tracy Nurs-ing Home in Tracy until 2004, when her health required her to retire.

Joan was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, where she had taught Sunday school in the past. She was also a Girl Scout leader for six years, a service unit manager for the Girl Scouts and also a district delegate. Joan enjoyed camping, working with the Girl Scouts, crafts, scrap-booking, photography and mov-ies.

Joan is survived by her hus-band, Wade Rollag of Tracy; two daughters, Anna Leah and Katie Rollag of Tracy; one son, Caleb Rollag of Tracy; one brother, Wesley (Kim) Borah of Lake Park; five sisters, Patricia (LeeRoy) Kind of Marysville, Wash., Jane Christensen of Fargo, Barbara (Mike) Wirth of Davenport, N.D., Judy (Gary) Wenner of Burnsville, Minn., and Joyce (Bill) Johnson of Kingston, Tenn.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cous-ins.

Her grandparents, parents, one son, Jared, twin daughters, Emily and Alaina, one brother, Joseph and one sister, Rebecca Borah preceded her in death.

Services were held Thursday, May 24, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, Minn. Interment was at the Tingvold Lutheran Cemetery near Fergus Falls. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy was entrusted with arrangements.
