Grant Johnson, former superintendent of schools at Detroit Lakes, has been recognized for his donation to the Two Harbors Public Library.
In celebration of his Leak Year birthday, Johnson challenged family and friends to make donations to the library. He agreed to match up to $1,000. Donations in the amount of $1,200 came in, and added with Johnson's matching $1,000, $2,200 was donated to the library.
Johnson said he only has two pieces of reading material in his home -- the Bible and the Duluth newspaper -- so he spends much of his time at the library.
