Johnson-Hilden Family Music Show Oct. 23
REACH and the family members of Dee (Hilde) Johnson will host the Johnson-Hilde Family Music Show on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Top Hat Theatre at Ulen-Hitterdal School, Ulen.
The Hitterdal Lions Club will be preparing and serving a pasta meal beginning at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a silent auction held as well. Donations will be gratefully accepted for both the meal and performance, which is a fund-raiser for the Dee (Hilde) Johnson Music Memorial Fund.
The show will feature Johnson-Hilde family members, members of the Jaspers Jubilee Theatre in Park Rapids, and Kathie Brekke & the 42nd Street Jazz Band. Attendees will enjoy classic country music, gospel favorites, jazz favorites, and hilarious comedy from a special appearance by Auntie Kreamsaugen.
The late Dee Johnson lived her life full of passion for music. Born in Ulen, she entertained in Park Rapids, Ulen and Detroit Lakes for decades, until 2005. Now, in honor of her, a fund has been established to help spread the joy of music.
This fund is "dedicated to honoring the memory of Dee (Hilde) Johnson by awarding scholarships and grants to specific people, programs, projects or organizations in the Ulen, Hitterdal and Park Rapids areas, which will improve the local quality of life through music."
