Joyce A. Lubbesmeyer, 54, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Cormorant.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, January 22 at Augustana Lutheran Church in rural Detroit Lakes, with Reverend Paul Peterson officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 21 at Augustana Lutheran Church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Joyce Ann Jones was born to Richard and Doris (Bergquist) Jones on January 10, 1956 in Glyndon, Minn. She graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School in 1974, and attended the Alexandria Vo-Tech, where she earned an associate degree in interior design. She then moved to Detroit Lakes, where she earned an associate degree in architectural drafting from the Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech.
Joyce was united in marriage to Daniel Lubbesmeyer on October 14, 1978 in Glyndon. They moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked for Trossen and Wright Architects. She worked as a computer technician for Power Systems Engineering in Blaine, Minn., 1980-2008. Joyce and Dan moved to Chisago City, Minn., and made their home there, 1986-2008. They moved to Lake Eunice in rural Detroit Lakes in 2008.
Joyce enjoyed fund raising for various activities, spending time with her grandson and time at the lake.
Surviving Joyce are her husband, Dan, of Detroit Lakes; two daughters, Tobina (Bill) Tombers of Plymough, Minn., and Amy Lubbesmeyer of Moorhead; a grandson, Billy Tombers; three sisters, Marcie (Bruce) Matson of Moorhead, Janice Jones of Glyndon and Monica (Tom) Millette of Moorhead.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Doris Jones.
