Jumping for joy: LP-A students raise $2,600 for hearts

Students at Lake Park-Audubon Elementary jumped all over heart disease and stroke by participating in the Jump Rope for Heart event held on March 28.

The students raised $2,653 for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease and stroke, our nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers. Jump Rope for Heart is a program that promotes physical activity and heart health through jumping rope.

“This year’s event was a huge success,” said Lori Wixo, Jump Rope for Heart coordinator. “We all had a lot of fun, and the kids enjoyed learning about the importance of physical activity and how they can play a role in saving lives.”

The school had 47 students, third through sixth grade participate. The top fundraiser was fourth grader Cheyenne Orth. Other students that helped raise donations are Payton Braseth, Riven Donovan, Mia Gehrig, Morgan Kruger, Sydney Porter, Chloe Viergutz, Caroline Grande, Abigail Lindquist, Robert Jorschumb, Liam O’Connell, Bracston Felker, Peter Hannesson, Mikayla Schlauderaff, David Alder, Saige Anderson, Dalton Dornbusch, Lilly Frohman, Jaycie Mikkelson, Jackson Porter, Kamron Smith, Xavier Strehlow, Madison Nelson, Izabella Olson, Bradley Steinbach, Kaitlin Wirth, Kyra Erickson, Shelby Lyman Granvold, Adeline Longtine, Luke Mattson, Taytum Nelson, Esben O’Connell, Sophia Schindler, Cassandra Sternitzky, Seth Torgerson, Jadyn Cole, Brody Braseth, Caylin Donovan, Hunter Hagen, Kara Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Logan Yeske, Lexi Swiontek, Carter Minske, Jackson North, Layla Boe-Hopkins, Devin Monroe.
