June Ann Westlake was born May 6, 1923 in Minneapolis, to parents Herman Lloyd and Josephine Melquist Westlake.

In her 30-plus years split between Minnesota and Arizona, June continued her many Christian and social activities in her churches; in Christian Women's Club; and in other volunteer roles. June led and attended numerous Bible studies, and her gift of hospitality was always evident as she served friends and neighbors especially delicious food!

Her wonderful long phone updates and her expressions of love to all will be very much missed. June's enduring hope for all her family and friends was that they, too, would come to know her lifelong best friend, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Surviving June are her children, Julianne (Gregory) Peterson of Orono, Minn., Jayne of Carefree, Arizl, and Jon (Linda) of Minneapolis; grandchildren Jessica (Tony), Joshua, and Charles; and great-granddaughters Jordan and Avery. She is also survived by brother Jon (Marianne) of Minneapolis; sister-in-law Joan of Detroit Lakes; brother-in-law Charles of Fountain Hills, Ariz., brother-in-law Herb of Virginia, Minn., and many adored nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother Robert Westlake of Detroit Lakes; and beloved husband of 62 years, Robert Forsythe Hubbard.

A memorial service was held Sunday, April 11 at the Black Mountain Community Church in Scottsdale.

A second memorial service is set for Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Noerenberg Gardens on Lake Minnetonka, Minn., starting at 10 a.m. A celebratory reception will follow at the home of June's daughter Julie, who lives nearby.

Memorials may be sent to North Chapel in Fountain Hills, Ariz.; Black Mountain Community Church in Scottsdale; or to the organization of the donor's choice.
