Kathie May Sagmo, 58, Detroit Lakes, Minn., passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in Bakke Lutheran Church, rural Detroit Lakes, with Reverend Greg Anderson officiating. Archie Stiyer will sing "In The Garden" and "If We Never Meet Again This Side of Heaven."
Honorary casketbearers will be: Marilyn Peter-son, Diane Erickson, Mary Hanebuth, Betty Wilson, Linda Stach, Lori Fong, Lynn Anderson, Anne Hoffman, Diane Bentley, Sally Prauss, Kathy Disse, Darlene Olson and Rebel Stiyer.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. in David Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service to be held at 6. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
Kathie was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Detroit Lakes to Chester and Eileen (Harthun) Sagmo. She was raised in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1969.
Kathie was a member of the Detroit Lakes Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed at Picture Rock, Pella Windows, Swift and Company and for the past 16 years, she was employed at Lakes Medi-Van Non-emergency Transportation Company until Nov. 25, 2009 due to her illness.
Kathie enjoyed going to bingo and to the casino and also getting together with the coffee crew and just laughing.
Kathie is survived by her dog, Kassie May; her parents, Chester and Eileen Sagmo; three sisters: Bonnie (Darcy) Bellefeuille, DeAnn McWethy, Kandy (Brad) Pederson; one brother, Ron (Tammy) Sagmo; 12 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
Kathie is preceded in death by her niece, Kathie May Nelson.
