Knudsvig scores 35 in Raider win over Fosston
It was a breakout kind of night for Lake Park-Audubon senior guard Andi Knudsvig, who put the Raiders on her shoulders and led them to a 57-50 victory over visiting Fosston Tuesday.
Knudsvig not only scored over half of LP-A's points with 34, she distributed the ball to her teammates to help create space for shooting.
But as LP-A head coach Anthony Bryant pointed out, despite Knudsvig putting up super numbers, it was still a team effort.
"Rachel Carlson really sparked the team by grabbing a couple of steals and providing tough defensive pressure," Bryant said.
"Bailee Bartunek played excellent defense and led the team in rebounding, and Breann Hogie is emerging as a defensive leader."
He also credited senior point guard Tate Hall for handling the Greyhounds' full-court pressure and taking care of the ball.
"I was glad to see our girls pull together against a tough Fosston team," Bryant added.
Fosston's Tara Evjie also scored her 1,000th career point in the losing cause and finished with 19 points.
Bartunek reached double digits, as well, with 10 points.
The Raiders (4-2) will host No. 4 Class 2A ranked Hawley (4-0) Monday at 7:30 p.m.
