Krump's super service wins Chamber awards
Nancy Krump of Detroit Lakes has a little extra reason to smile this holiday season.
The assistant manager of Service Cleaners is the latest recipient of the Super Service Award.
The award is given out to service professionals throughout the community who go above and beyond to satisfy their customers.
"Random people in the community decide that somebody did something good, then report it to us," said Jill Mack, who is a promotions and events committee representative, "it comes to our committee, and they look at all the nominations and vote."
Krump was surprised at her workplace, as Mack and Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce President Carrie Johnston handed her flowers and $25 in chamber bucks.
"The person who nominated you said you had really helped them out," Johnston told Krump, "they needed something done immediately, and you helped them out right way. They come in here often, and know they're always going to get good service."
Krump says she wasn't expecting the honors, but was happy to receive them.
"It's overwhelming -- it's a very nice feeling to know that somebody appreciates me," said Krump who is starting her ninth year at Service Cleaners, "I like working with the public, and we have a good crew to work with down here."
Krump lives in Detroit Lakes with her husband.
She's got two grown children and five grandchildren in the area.
The Super Service Award is handed out by the Chamber quarterly.
