Lady Hornet girls' golf keeps progressing
The Frazee Lady Hornet golf team has shown steady improvement all season long and it continued Thursday at a Heart O'Lakes Conference meet at Birchwood Golf Course in Pelican Rapids.
Frazee had a solid round, which saw them break the 200 barrier for what is believed the first time in school history as their 196 total earned them third place behind Pelican Rapids and Perham.
Alexis Parsons continued her steady play that with a career-low 45 despite battling a hip-flexor injury.
Her sister, Maddisan, also had a great day as she also had a career-low with a 49. Becky Karasch recovered from a slow start to finish with a 50 and Mary Tychsen had a 52 despite some trouble with putting.
Brittany Lormis added a 59 and Cara Roers had a 62.
"It was definitely a great day for the girls," head coach Dave Conzemius said. "They are continuing to work hard on improving their games and they are now starting to see some of the benefits. The potential is there for these kids, now we just need to become a little more consistent."
Mackenzie Strand of Pelican Rapids was the medalist for the Vikings with a 38 as she led her team to the team title with a 170.
Perham was close behind with a 175.
The Lady Hornets next action will be on Tuesday with the 18-hole conference meet at Wildflower with a 2 p.m. start.
