LAKE PARK-AUDUBON VOLLEYBALL: Raiders falter vs. state ranked Win-E-Mac Patriots
The Lake Park-Audubon volleyball team has a firm hold on the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Section 6-1A playoffs and they also had a glimpse of what it will take to make it through a rugged tournament push.
The No. 8 Class 1A ranked Win-E-Mac made the visit to Audubon, as the Patriots swept away with a 3-0 win by the scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-13.
The Patriots improved to 20-2-1, while the Raiders dropped to 14-7 on the season, with one game remaining on the regular season schedule.
"Win-E-Mac was a balanced and smooth team," said LP-A head coach Mike Summers. "But I was pleased with how our team played, they didn't back down. A lot of good happenings came out of this match."
Win-E-Mac took advantage of too many unforced errors by LP-A on their way to a 25-13 win, while the Raiders responded with their strongest performance in set two, but falling 25-22.
"You can't have that many unforced errors against a team like Win-E-Mac," Summers said. "We led for most of the way in game two and we were serving well, plus we were able to take them out of their offensive sets quite a bit."
The third game went down 25-13, as the Raiders had too many unforced errors again.
"They were hard hitters, but our girls responded well," Summers added.
Senior outside hitter Andrea Knudsvig led the Raiders with seven kills, while senior setter Tatum Hall added 13 assists.
Angie Carlson had 22 digs and Knudsvig dug out 20.
The Raiders will cap the regular season Thursday at Norman County East (13-5).
