Lake Park native helps save fawn
Robert Jacobs, a graduate of Lake Park High School and NDSU, lives in White Bear Lake.
He walks to work every day and also runs along Birch Lake. On his way home from work, he was walking with two colleagues when they saw this tiny deer in distress.
Robert walked out on the dock while one of his friends photographed it with his camera.
The fawn’s foot was stuck between boards on the dock. It was trying to keep its head above water and was very exhausted.
Robert carefully lifted it from the water and gently carried it to shore.
When it had stopped shivering, he carried it to the edge of the woods where he had seen the deer before.
It stayed still for a little while and then ran off looking for its mother.
