Cindy Theresa Myhre, 37, of 23918 170th Ave., Lake Park has been charged in Becker County District Court with two serous felony counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in substantial bodily harm. (The second count includes a stipulation for having a blood alcohol concentration of .08 percent or more.)

According to court records:

At about 1:30 a.m. on May 2 two deputies were dispatched to the scene of a rollover accident on County Road 9, about two miles north of Lake Park.

They found the vehicle in the east ditch facing west, with severe damage, especially to the roof.

One woman was still in the passenger seat. The driver, Myhre, was lying on the ground on the right rear side of the vehicle after having apparently been ejected.

While waiting for EMS workers to arrive, one deputy smelled alcohol on Myhre. The other also smelled alcohol as she was being placed on a backboard prior to being flown by Life Flight helicopter to MeritCare hospital in Fargo.

Blood tests allegedly indicated her blood alcohol level was .23 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.

The passenger, who was not named in the complaint, was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Innovis Hospital in Detroit Lakes. She suffered significant bruising to her body and multiple broken ribs.

The two women had allegedly been drinking that evening. The crash scene investigation allegedly revealed that Myhre had lost control of the vehicle on a curve while heading south on County Road 9.

The vehicle crossed over the northbound lane, entered the east ditch, and traveled about 211 feet before rolling over. Tire tracks indicated that Myhre may have attempted to drive out of a steep grade, causing the vehicle to roll over.

On Thursday, District Judge Steven A. Anderson issued a summons for Myhre to appear in court July 27.
