Laker girls’ hockey falls to Stars
The River Lakes girls’ hockey team controlled the puck for the majority of the game to win 5-1 over the visiting Detroit Lakes Lakers Friday.
The Stars (9-3-0) outshot the Lakers (3-5-2) by a hefty 50-9 margin, while scoring three in the first period and two in the second.
DL goalie Veronica Badurek was busy with 45 saves, with the Lakers’ lone goal coming on a short-handed series, unassisted, by Hannah Rhodes in the third period.
