Laker girls net first win of the season in Rocori tournament
While it wasn't a full game, a win is a win for the Detroit Lakes girls hockey team.
The Laker girls beat Le Sueur/St. Peter 3-2 in a two-period game on Monday in the Rocori tournament.
And how Detroit Lakes (1-9-1) came away with the victory was a blur.
The Lakers scored three goals in a span three minutes during the first five minutes of the second period.
Katie Mollberg struck first, assisted by Korti Ackerson.
Brin Seebold's goal tied the score a 1-all and Ackerson put DL in the lead at the 5:21 mark of the period.
Le Sueur/St. Peter took an early lead with a goal at the 14:24 mark of the first period. Another goal with under five minutes left in the game made it a contest late.
Winona Goettel took the win in net for DL, saving 13 shots and allowing just the two goals.
