Laker JV baseball picks up wins
The Laker junior varsity baseball team now has a record of 5-6, after they traveled to Wadena-Deer Creek and came out on top 11-1 and 9-4.
In the first game, Matthew Bergren pitched a great game striking out seven.
Josh Bollig led the way with three hits and five others had two apiece in Matthew Bergren, Andrew Dahl, Jacob Anderson, Austin Anderson and Mason Wentz.
In the second game, Andrew Dahl came in to relieve Chase Metalak to pick up the win and Chase Morris led the way with two hits including a double.
The Lakers lost to Perham 5-1 and could only manage four hits.
Matthew Schouviller pitched very well in the defeat.
The team also traveled to Pequot Lakes and lost both games 6-2 and 11-1.
“This was the first time all year that we kicked the ball around and if you don’t score runs you lose,” said DL head coach Mike Even. “The Lakers managed only four hits in the double header.
The Lakers host Moorhead on the Tuesday.
