Laker squad downs 'Jacks for first 'W'

After faltering to close out a potential win against Alexandria in its second game of the season -- thus resulting in a tie -- the Detroit Lakes girls' soccer team lived and let learned as they picked up their first victory of the season with a 3-2 win in Bemidji Thursday.


Despite being a young team, the Lakers did pick up a few pointers in their 2-2 tie last week against Alexandria, and one was be ready to survive an opponents' onslaught in the final 10 minutes.
