After a back-and-forth affair kept the score close the entire game, it all came down to free throws, as the Prowlers went 15-18, while the Lakers struggled going 8-18.

"The game deciding factor in the game came down to free throws, where we also missed three front-ends of one and one's," said DL head coach Mike Hoganson.

"The good news is these are correctable errors. We will learn from this and work hard and move forward."

The Prowlers, who improved to 19-1 on the season, fell down early 8-1 to the Lakers, but were able to pull back to lead 33-27 with a 6-0 run right before half, by capitalizing on DL's foul troubles.

The Lakers' defense was still strong, limiting the potent Prowler offense to 23 points in the second half, but they were hindered by missed free throws.

Post play was once again solid for the Lakers, as sophomore Shay Nielsen led the way with 13 points, while senior guard Karli Kerzman remained hot from beyond the three-point arc, by sinking four for her 12 points.

DL junior center Brooke Olson overcame a sprained wrist to score 11 points, as well.

"Kyley Foster played a super floor game, dishing out many assists and limiting opportunities for (TRF's) Brooke Yaggie, their best player," Hoganson said.

Yaggie did score 16 points, but only one field goal in the second half, along with five free throws.

Courtney Amirayan notched 12 points, as well as Madison Brekke.

The Lakers (7-10) will have the tough task of traveling to No. 1 ranked and undefeated Fergus Falls Tuesday, with the game starting at 7:30 p.m.
